The Lower East Side is where our tour begins, with 200+ years of immigration history. Our tour ends in Little Italy, in the last blocks of what was once the largest Italian enclave in America.
At every stop in between, your guide fills in the stories behind every bite: the Jewish pushcart vendors who put bagels on New York tables, the Dominican families who reshaped the neighborhood decades ago, Lebanese and Syrian immigrants whose Little Syria once stood further downtown, and the Chinatown restaurant steeped in tradition that's fed the neighborhood since the 1920s.
More than the food, every stop comes with a story. By the time your tour ends, you'll understand different journeys: Jewish, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Chinese, Italian, and more. The Tour Experience

Each tour is about 2.5 hours and includes 1.5 - 2 miles of walking.
We'll visit 5+ stops, each with their own stories, food coming straight from the immigrant communities

Enough to call it a large meal, so arrive hungry! We've run the tour for people of all ages and sizes, and can guarantee you will be walking away full and satisfied!

We typically do include a spirit drink when possible on the tour, and 1-2 stops will have water stations you may use. We encourage you to bring a refillable water bottle, and you are welcome to bring coffee or other drinks with you.

No! We work directly with restaurants to get you the food straight away, right out of the oven.

Occasionally, our partner restaurants are closed for the day. While this rarely happens, we have over a dozen amazing partners in the neighborhood and will replace any restaurants that are closed with another amazing stop to ensure you get the best experience possible!

Your exact meeting point is in your confirmation email, located near the intersection of Delancey/Essex and accessible via subway, bus, and taxi. We'll end the tour in the Little Italy. We will be walking in between all stops on the tour (1.5 - 2 miles in total).

Most importantly, wear comfortable walking shoes, as we'll walk 1.5 - 2 miles per tour! Aside from that, just check the forecast and make sure you'll be comfortable.

We take dietary restrictions seriously, and we value being transparent first and foremost. If you're vegetarian, vegan, or dairy-free, this tour can comfortably accommodate your restrictions! If you are gluten-free or have a severe nut allergy, this tour will be trickier for you, and we don't recommend it. We've had many guests with milder nut allergies join the tour, and are able to accommodate them as long as they are okay consuming food processed in the same facility as other dishes that include nuts.
If you have any other restrictions, we can likely make it work for you! Just send us a message ahead of time to check, or include a message about your allergy/restrictions when you purchase your ticket.

Each ticket includes all food tastings, and a fun and knowledgeable local tour guide to tell you all about the food and neighborhood!
Gratuities are not included in the price of a ticket. While you're not required to leave a tip, we do encourage you to leave one for your guide if you had a great experience!

If the forecast is looking quite scary, we'd rather be safe - we can refund or reschedule you, and may occasionally pre-emptively cancel the tour ourselves. If it's just a little wet outside, we have a tour route that makes sure you don't get drenched. It's always good to bring the essentials - sunscreen for warm days, an umbrella for the wet ones.
